Well hard to believe that spring break is almost here!! It coincides with an important week of holidays in Spain known as Semana Santa. My son who goes to Spanish school will also have the week off. They start public school at age 3 in Spain!! I took over the last Biology section the week that Chris came for a visit. I was pretty nervous as they seemed to be such a negative group of kids. The really good news is that so far they are being really great for me. I think that it has been good for them to have a new face in the room and we started a new unit at the same time. My mentor teacher commented today on how much more positive the class was. It was also nice that today one of the students from this class asked if I was going to be teaching at DGF next year and was disappointed to hear I would not be here. I imagine in a few weeks it may not be so exciting to have me around, but for the time being I’m really enjoying this section much more than I had anticipated. It is also nice because I finally get to teach the same class more than one period, which allows you to reflect upon and improve your lesson for the second section. Up until a few weeks ago I had all single section preps, which I can see is a major downside of teaching at a small school.

I was wanted to thank Chris for being so supportive and positive on her visit. It was really refreshing to get some different feedback.

Have a good spring break everyone!

I guess we all have been really busy lately by the looks of our posts. School is going well. Still teaching full time, but it seems to be getting less tiring. The most stressful thing now seems to be filling out applications for next semester. I am beginning to realize how sad i am going to be to miss my kids. After spring break I will only have 3 weeks left. I have started to prep my kids for the transition. Next week week we have our NCA accreditation. I am not sure if i should be teaching when they come since they are coming to assess the current teachers. Delome thinks we will just go with how we have been now, which is fine with me. I was wondering what actually i am supposed to be doing that last week I am here. Is it ok for me to ask the other teachers if i can come visit their classrooms? Chris, I know you have already talked to Mrs. Heit, but i was wondering if i could peak into Stellato's for an afternoon or something. Talk to you all soon.
